A medium-strength retaining compound specifically formulated for bonding cylindrical fitting parts. Particularly where you need to disassemble for regular servicing or maintenance. This adhesive cures anaerobically in the absence of air when confined between closely fitting metal surfaces, forming a strong bond that resists loosening, leakage, and wear caused by shock, vibration, and mechanical stress. It is ideal for applications where parts need to be securely held in place but may also need to be dismantled at a later time, such as the retention of bearings on shafts and in housings.

Usage Recommendations

• Surface Preparation: For best results, clean and dry all surfaces before application to remove any dirt, grease, or oil. LOCTITE® 641 can tolerate minor contamination but cleaner surfaces will yield better results.
• Application: Apply the retaining compound evenly to the surfaces of the cylindrical fitting parts. The adhesive will wick into the threads and gaps via capillary action.
• Assembly: Once applied, assemble the parts and allow the adhesive to cure. LOCTITE® 641 cures in the absence of air, with full strength typically achieved within 24 hours.
• Disassembly: When disassembly is required, apply heat to the parts to break the bond. This allows for easy removal without damaging the parts.
