CRC Rust Seal 750ml

CRC Rust Seal is the ideal pre-treatment for painting rusted metal. It stops the corrosion process by forming a black protective barrier that seals of the rust from moisture. This way, it transforms corroded metal into an easily paintable surface without any time-consuming sandblasting. After drying, you can paint directly over the Rust Seal. Overpaint with CRC Acrylic Paint for high gloss result or with CRC Galva Color for ultimate corrosion protection.

Product Features:

• Reacts with the rust and forms a black protective barrier that seals of moisture
• Permanently protects the topcoat against corrosion (500 hours of salt spray)
• Can directly apply it to rusted metal
• Minimal surface preparation required (no need for sandblasting)
• Fast-drying: Paintable after 2 hours (at relative humidity < 60% and dry film thickness of 40μ)
• Water based: non-toxic, safe to use and environmentally friendly
• Good adhesion with the surface and the topcoat
• Can be applied with brush or roller

Applications:

CRC Rust Seal is recommended as a pre-treatment for rusted surfaces before painting. This can include pipes, valves, fittings, storage tanks, fences, conveyors, containers, etc.

Directions:

• Remove loose rust with a wire brush (no need for sandblasting).
• The surface must be clean and free of oil, dust and grease.
• Before use, stir well.
• Apply an even coat of Rust Seal directly on the rusted surface with a brush or roller. Recommended thickness is 40-50μ (when dried).
• Let dry for 2 hours before overpainting
• Apply an extra coat (when necessary) and let dry again for 2 hours (at relative humidity < 60% and dry film thickness of 40μ).
• The Rust Seal will become a tough barrier while drying.
• Rinse your brush or roller immediately after use with water.
