The low viscosity enables it to flow easily into tight threads, eliminating the need for disassembly before application. LOCTITE® 290 is an anaerobic adhesive, meaning it cures when confined in the absence of air, forming a strong bond between tightly fitting metal surfaces.

Usage Recommendations

• Surface Preparation: Surfaces should be clean and dry for optimal performance. While the product is capable of working on slightly contaminated surfaces, cleaner parts will result in stronger bonds.
• Assembly: After application, assemble the parts and allow the adhesive to cure. LOCTITE® 290 cures in the absence of air and typically reaches full strength in 24 hours.
• Disassembly: If disassembly is required, apply heat to the fastened parts to break the bond, making it easier to remove the fastener with hand tools.
